Contemporary portrait photography by award winning Christchurch photographer Frauke John
Portrait Photography
Frauke is a people person and thrives on the interactions with her clients. She loves meeting people from all walks of life and this is reflected in her portrait photography. Before every sitting she takes time to get to know her clients in order to establish how they perceive themselves and what they would like to see expressed in the final photographs. Frauke creates images that reflect the personality and warmth of her subjects.
“I feel very honoured when people ask me to photograph their children for them. I see how much they adore their little ones and it gives me great satisfaction to capture the children's personalities. It takes a lot of patience and often some creative ideas are required but I love it.”
Commercial Photography
Frauke offers a wide range of services for her commercial clients. Whether you need some product photography for an advertising brochure or corporate portraits for your website, Frauke is happy to work in with your needs. She offers studio photography or can take pictures on site. She is skilled in digital manipulation and enjoys working to your brief.
Frauke has photographed a wide variety of events in the past including art performances and outdoor sports.
Wedding Photography
Frauke always feels very privileged when people choose her to photograph their wedding. Especially since having gotten married herself in December 2006 she appreciates what a wonderful and important event a wedding is in a couples' life.
She loves the romance and the excitement of the day. While working in a very unobtrusive manner she captures those wonderful moments that will be remembered forever. Her wedding photography is fun and shows her sense of humour.
Personal Work
Close up photography is one of Frauke's passions. Her award winning flower photographs reveal another world and are very appealing with their bright colours. Her collection Space Flowers has been exhibited in Bangkok in 2001
Driftwood, rocks, sand, leaves – Frauke uses her photography as a medium to share the beauty she sees in the most ordinary things. She discovers patterns and magic - reflections that a lot of people would never notice in nature.
